If you do rent a car, you’ll find that North Portland offers ample free parking and fast access to the interstate – a couple more reasons that it’s our favorite Portland neighborhood! Portland’s light rail (the “MAX”) runs along N Interstate Ave and makes it easy to travel to Downtown, the Moda Center, Providence Park, NW Portland, and even the airport. While it’s not as compact as some of Portland’s other neighborhoods, you can get by without a car. If you’re visiting Portland and looking for the best place to stay – an Airbnb near either of these streets will put you close to fun bars and delicious restaurants. The most popular streets in North Portland are N Mississippi Street and N Williams Avenue.
